TTAL Advances Governance and Strategic Priorities as CEO Recruitment Enters Final Stage

Posted Sep 26, 2026

The Tobago Tourism Agency Limited (TTAL) is moving forward with a focused programme of work aimed at strengthening governance, stakeholder engagement, sector transformation and data-led destination management, as the Agency enters a new phase of institutional development.

A new Board of Directors took effect from September 14, 2026, providing renewed governance oversight as TTAL continues its evolution into a premier destination management organisation. The new Board brings representation spanning the accommodation, community tourism, marketing, tour guiding, events, finance, airline, research and academic sectors.

Considerable progress has also been made in the recruitment of a substantive Chief Executive Officer. Following completion of the interview and assessment process and subsequent consideration by the Executive Council, the recruitment process has advanced to its final stage. The Agency expects to conclude the process shortly.

This transition follows the resignation of the Agency’s Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Sandra Orr-Toney, effective September 12, 2026, following the conclusion of the term of the outgoing Board of Directors. Having first joined the Board in 2024 and subsequently assumed responsibility as Acting CEO, Mrs. Orr-Toney provided leadership to the Agency over the past two years.

TTAL extends its sincere appreciation to Mrs. Orr-Toney for her service to the Agency and Tobago’s wider tourism industry. During her tenure, the Agency advanced work to fill key leadership positions, reviewed its overseas marketing representation in key source markets, and continued efforts to strengthen its administrative and financial management.

To ensure continuity while the substantive CEO recruitment process is concluded, Mrs. Korice Archer-Quashie-Nancis will serve as Interim Chief Executive Officer. Mrs. Archer-Quashie-Nancis, who has served as an ex officio member of the TTAL Board, brings approximately fifteen years of public-sector experience, including work in destination development, tourism policy, international technical cooperation, airlift and project management.

She previously served as TTAL’s Director of Product Development and Destination Management from 2018 to 2019 and advised in the area of tourism for the Tobago House of Assembly’s COVID-19 Economic Recovery Working Group in 2020.

The Agency’s immediate priorities will include strategic realignment, strengthened stakeholder engagement, data-led destination planning, enhanced destination development and continued collaboration with industry partners to heighten visibility and strengthen Tobago’s tourism product and competitiveness.

TTAL remains committed to strong industry partnerships and ensuring that its work and programmes deliver meaningful value for Tobago and its tourism industry.
