Tobago takes Washington, D.C.

The Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago buzzed with excitement as Tobago took centerstage at the 16th annual Around the World, Passport D.C. tour in Washington, D.C on May 4, 2024. With over 7,000 visitors in attendance, the Tobago Tourism Agency (TTAL) in collaboration with the Division of Tourism, Culture, Antiquities and Transportation (DOTCAT) revealed a captivating display of local crafts, folk dances and mouthwatering delicacies, providing guests with a taste of what Tobago has to offer. 

TTAL Marketing Officer, Andra Joefield greeted scores of visitors who were also eager to learn more about the many attractions Tobago has to offer, including the upcoming Heritage Festival in July and Tobago Carnival in October that will both transform the island into a cultural hub of premier performances, lively concerts, and vibrant village celebrations. Visitors were also intrigued to learn about the island’s spectacular beaches and ocean reefs that beckon beach-lovers and seasoned divers from around the world, as well as its untouched natural landscapes that offer the ideal escape for birders, eco-adventurers and explorers alike.

Speaking on the impact of Tobago’s presence at the event, the Attaché for Public Affairs and Culture at the Embassy of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in Washington D.C., Ms. Joan Brammer said, “The inclusion of the THA and Tobago Beyond incredibly contributed to a spectacular representation of Trinidad and Tobago. We hope to partner in the future as we continue to highlight Tobago as a tourist destination and a great getaway island.”

Through events such as this, TTAL continues its efforts to market destination Tobago on the global stage.
