Check out our recommendations for some of the very best things to experience and create your own staycation plans in Tobago!
Since you have a full day ahead, you should grab breakfast at Shore Things Tobago or Rosie's Homestyle Bakery for a true Tobagonian meal. Get your morning walk in at the Tobago Boardwalk where you can listen crackling mangroves, sweet sounds of the birds and the rolling waves as you approach the jetty. Or, if you prefer a meditative type of workout, take a yoga class at Kariwak Village and Holistic Haven or Castara Retreats. After you've warmed up, head to Buccoo Bay and take a trail ride and swim with horses in Buccoo.
If you love water-sports, there are a number of activities across the island to get in on. In addition to jet skiing in Pigeon Point, there are several snorkel spots that offer up breathtaking views of Tobago's underwater world including Mount Irvine and Arnos Vale. If you're feeling really adventurous, go on a night bioluminescence tour and marvel at the glowing electric blue waters as you paddle or kayak your way through Bon Accord Lagoon at night while your guide explains the phenomenon of bioluminescence.
For those who want to take in the beauty of Tobago at a leisurely pace, a coastal tour is a must and explore the island's hidden bays, coves, flats and reefs. Take a day tour and start in Crown Point in the west and sail to Charlotteville in the east.
For the family looking for some fun inspo for activities, let the kids get up close and personal while they meet island critters at Corbin Local Wildlife Park, go ATV-ing, or learn to stand up paddle, one of the fastest growing water sports in the world. Turtle-watching season is still in full swing and it's a great time to see mother turtles lay their eggs or little hatchlings make their way to the ocean.
Fitness enthusiasts will love the bountiful opportunites to see the island while getting a great workout in. Conquer the heights of Tobago during a half-day hike to Pigeon Peak on the Main Ridge Forest Reserve, dubbed one of the highest points on the island. If you prefer a slightly easier route, journey through one of the rainforest's many trails like Gilpin Trace or Blue Copper Trail. For some water action, hike to Castara or Highland Waterfall, the tallest single-drop waterfall in Tobago or go scuba diving at Mount Irvine Wall.
After a day of exploring, grab some delicious eats and drinks at one of Tobago's many beach bars as you watch the sun set and bask in the final rays of paradise.
